Common Questions

About Us+

Where are you located?

We're headquartered inSan Francisco, CA, 94104. We also have offices in China, the Philippines, and Romania. That means a manufacturing support staff that never sleeps until your project is at your doorstep.

How can I contact you?

You can email us at [email protected] and we'll respond as soon as we're able.

Design+

I have a favorite photograph. Can you use it in my design?

Certainly. Markers can use an offset printing method appropriate for photographs. In order to prevent fuzzy or unclear prints, we strongly recommend the photograph or artwork be a high-resolution JPEG, TIFF, AI or PSD file above 300 DPI.

For other colourful designs, our design team can provide complimentary assistance in digitizing/vectorizing these images. Occasionally this process will add to your turnaround time.

Can I get a digital copy of the design?

Yes. After every free design consultation, we will send you a clear digital copy of the design. If it's not perfect, let us know and we won't rest until it is. When you're happy with it, we'll send your approved design to the factory for production.

Designs will be sent 1 to 2 business days after your payment is confirmed. Designs can also be sent before payment, when requested.

Can I make any shape I want?

Our collection lines are more versatile than you'd expect — just ask your creative specialist and you might be surprised at what we can do.

Are there limitations to the number of colors I can have?

Not at all. We can do an unlimited amount of colors but for every nine colors of thread your product cost and speed are doubled. For most of our customers' designs, though, nine colors is more than enough. You might also be interested in a printed patch if you're really wanting something exceptionally colorful.

What is "offsetting?"

Offsetting is a technique in design where an image appears to have a shadow by duplicating the image and placing it behind the design and off to the side at an angle.

Can I do different colors of the same item and still get the order for the same price?

Most often, yes. It depends on what the colors and styles you'd like to switch out are — but your creative specialist will always configure order in the most economical way possible.

How many colors can my design have?

Screen printed apron designs can receive a maximum 10 colors for traditional spot screen printing (solid colors only, no gradients).

Embroidery can accommodate up to nine colors per location, but we advise no more than five for clarity's sake.

Both screen printing and embroidery can be applied to a single apron. Simple but brilliant, like chocolate-dipped bacon.

Full-color printing is the only option that allows for unlimited colors and color gradients. Dye sublimation full-color printing is available at low quantities in only one style/SKU, but we offer cut and sew aprons, too — although generally requiring higher quantities before they become an economical choice with the highest level of customization.

Can I get screenprinting or heat transfers on my beanies?

No. The reason we don't allow this option is that screenprinting or heat-transfers on knit fabric looks terrible the moment you start to wear it, cracking as the fabric underneath it moves and stretches. The designs you here are either patches that can move and stretch along with the fabric or designs actually knit into the fabric. It's indeed possible, as some of our competitors will say – but you won't want to wear it more than once.

Can I submit finished artwork?

Absolutely! While we have a team of world-class designers who can create incredible images from scratch, we know we also have incredibly creative customers. If you don't need design help, you can submit completed artwork files to be prepped for production.

What if I'm not happy with the design?

We are happy to make as many edits as necessary to make your design perfect.. You'll be able to communicate with our team throughout the process via a dedicated customer dashboard that lets you make note directly on your design. Please note that a prolonged editing process will add time to your overall production timeline, so clear descriptions are a must for minimizing the number of edits required. You can even upload images or sketches to help show us your idea.

What do I need to submit to get my order started?

You'll need to fill out the quote form above so we get the general details of your order. You can also submit artwork, sketches, reference images, et cetera, so we get a better idea of your vision. If there's any additional information we need, your representative will reach out to you.

What kind of mockups can I expect?

You'll receive a digital mockup once your design has been created by our team. After you approve your mockup, we'll produce a physical sample of the ITEM and send you images from the factory. Additionally, you can request to receive a physical sample in the mail – note that this will add time to your overall production timeline as well as a shipping fee.

What can I expect once I approve the design?

Once you approve your final sample, your caps order will go into full production! We'll notify you of this as well as the moment it ships, providing tracking information so you can watch it all the way to your door.

Can you help explain each area of cap customization?

Sure! We want you to make informed decisions about the item you are creating. With so many areas of customization, you have full control of the finished product. That being said, we understand that it can be overwhelming to sort through each area. The terms below will help explain how each area contributes to the whole:

Style: Your desired style determines the general shape and silhouette of the cap.
Material: Material determines how the cap will look and feel. We've selected options blends that provide a breadth of cap styles for you to choose.
Profile Shape: Customize the crown (front panels) of your cap. Structured caps include backing that holds the caps shape, while unstructured caps have no backing and offer a more casual, slouchy look.
Profile Height – Further customize your cap by selecting the height of the panels. A higher profile means the cap will sit lower on the wearer's head.
Bill Shape: Select your desired bill shape to create the cap that best fits your needs.
Bill Length: Adjust the length of the cap's bill to further customize your item.
Cap Closure: Your desired closure further determines how the cap will look and how it will fasten around the head. We've selected standard closures that provide a breadth of styles for you to choose.
Exterior: Customize your cap's eyelet (ventilation holes places on each panel), top button, piping (area along the outer panel seams) and bill to create a completely unique product.
Interior: Customize your cap's sweatband (inner circumference) and taping (area along the inner panel seams) for a one-of-a-kind look.
Embroidery: Once you've finalized how your cap will be manufactured, you can add embroidered designs in multiple areas.
Printing: For more complex design elements, we recommend printing (screen or digital) them onto the cap material to ensure the intricacies are appreciated.
Packaging & Branding: Wether re-selling or gifting, it's important to think about how your caps will be presented. We encourage you to add labels and packaging – this saves you time and money!

Pricing+

How do you price your hats?

We put a lot of thought into our prices. Some of the more important variables are quantity, stylistic add-ons, size and "surface area" of the modifications  — i.e.,  how much printing, sowing or other graphically-related work does the project require? The person most equipped to give you a price for your product is your sale representative or our useful Create Your Product tool — both can give you a detailed analysis of your quote and what things featured into our per-item price.
