College football likes to tout its traditions, and in recent years one of its best traditions is the weekly Saturday Night Football game that airs in primetime on ABC. Featuring one of the best matchups of each week, Saturday Night Football is appointment viewing for college football fans.
Saturday Night Football travels across the country to broadcast these games, often including the ESPN College Gameday pregame broadcast in the mornings. The crew for Saturday Night Football for the 2021 seasons will return Chris Fowler as the play-by-play announcer, Kirk Herbstreit as the color commentator, as well as the new addition of Holly Rowe as the sideline reporter.

This week's edition of Saturday Night Football will highlight bedlam, the phrase associated with the annual rivalry game between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. This year's game is a top 10 matchup as Oklahoma ranks No. 10 and Oklahoma State No. 7 by the AP.
Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State matchup preview
This week's Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State game could be the first round in a two-round battle for the Big 12 championship, or a disappointing end for an Oklahoma program that has won the conference every year since 2015.
Oklahoma has been in or right around the top 10 in the college football rankings all year long, but their hope of being able to qualify for the College Football Playoffs will all depend on if they can beat Oklahoma State this week (and next, but first thing's first).
To do that they will likely need their freshman phenom quarterback Caleb Williams to lead them. Williams is coming off his worse game as a starter for the Sooners, completing just eight passes for 87 yards, one touchdown and an interception; he did add 67 yards on the ground and a touchdown as well. Despite that, Williams has provided a major spark to the Oklahoma offense since he took over.
The other key offensive weapon for the Sooners is running back Kennedy Brooks, who has 972 yards on the season and 10 touchdowns.
Oddly (at least for the Big 12 in recent years), it is Oklahoma State's defense that has been their big driver this season. The Cowboys defense ranks third in the country in terms of total yards allowed per game, giving up 267.8 yards on average. Will this defense be able to make Caleb Williams' struggle like he did against Iowa State? Can their fourth-ranked run defense bottle up Kennedy Brooks? If so, that would take the pressure off the Cowboys offense that while averaging 413.7 yards per game, ranks 60th in the nation.
They do have their own dynamic running back, however, in Jaylen Warren, who has 1,078 yards on the season and 10 touchdowns. Oklahoma's run defense does play better against the run than they do the pass, so that could be an intriguing matchup in the game.
Oklahoma State opens as 3.5 home favorites against Oklahoma.
As of publication, only three Saturday Night Football games have been confirmed, that is because they like to figure out what will be the most intriguing matchups by how the season is playing out. What to Watch will update the schedule for Saturday Night Football as future games are announced.

While ESPN produces the Saturday Night Football broadcasts, the games air on ABC, providing a way for national audiences to easily tune in for the game. This includes watching the game through either a traditional cable subscription, where ABC is included in virtually all local channel lineups, or with an antenna to receive the local ABC signal. There's also the more likes of vMVPD streaming services — i.e. Fubo TV, Sling TV, YouTube TV and Hulu with Live TV — that provide subscribers access to their local broadcast channels, including ABC.
ESPN will carry the Saturday Night Football game through its Watch ESPN website and app, however. To view the game on these platforms — with your computer, mobile phone or tablet — you will still need a subscription to a traditional or compatible vMVPD service to be able to watch live game action.
Select college football games will be broadcast each week for U.K. audiences on BT Sport, generally on BT Sport ESPN. For £10 BT TV subscribers can add BT Sport to their package, or consumers can add BT Sport as a standalone service for £25.
Wherever you may be in the world, if you're looking to watch Saturday Night Football it's possible, with one great option being a virtual private network. A VPN is designed to route network traffic through a specific set of servers in a specific country, allowing viewers to watch content on an encrypted feed over a computer.
